Who is Deepika Prasain?

Deepika Prasain is a brand new face who is just taking her first steps in the modelling industry.  She has worked with some well-known photographers and her work stands praised by many. 

How do you stay connected to the modelling and fashion world?

Through different newspapers, magazines and social networking sites, I have been able to be in the loop with the fashion world here.

What do you enjoy most about modelling?

Being in front of the camera is one of the best things for me. It  helps me grow as an individual. Also, modelling provides me with the opportunity to travel to different and interesting places.

Modelling for you is a hobby not a profession, you say.  Why so?

Since I am very new to modelling I am yet to discover the pros and cons. I need to explore my potential as a model and make an informed choice.

The most challenging part about working in the fashion industry…

The fear of being criticised. The thought of being sexually harassed and verbally assaulted also wearies me.

Nepali model who inspires you…

Frankly speaking, I am unable to specifically name anyone because everyone holds their own individual charm (smiles).

Tell us something about DeepikaPrasain that the world does not know…

I laugh when I am in pain. It’s something people do not comprehend.

Modelling assignments that are appealing…

I prefer modelling projects that help raise social awareness.

What is your general perception of models in Nepal?

Models do not get paid well and are not taken seriously by society.
