KATHMANDU: A person died and another sustained injuries after a motorcycle they were travelling on collided with a truck in Kusunti of Lalitpur Metropolitan City-13,on Monday, said police.

The deceased has been identified as Sarala Mishra (52) and injured as her brother-in-law Surendra Prasad Mishra (56), both residents of Dhokatol in KMC-19.

According to the polifce, the incident occurred as the motorcycle (Ba 67 Pa 4067) rammed into the truck (Na 6 Kha 2780) in Kusunti yesterday, injuring the two riders.

The injured were rushed to the Lagankhel-based Patan Hospital where Sarala breathed her last while under treatment. Surendra is still undergoing treatment and is able to speak at the moment, the police informed.

Meanwhile, police have impounded both the vehicles and detained the truck driver for further investigation.
