KATHMANDU: Police in Kathmandu arrested 17 persons and seized 10,345 litres of diesel and 466 cylinders of cooking gas in last one week as they intensified crackdown on black marketeers.

In a press statement, the Ministry of Home Affairs today said, teams of the concerned District Administration Offices and local police posts nabbed the traders for their alleged involvement in black marketing of fuels.

According to the MoHA spokesperson Yadav Prasad Koirala, the Ministry had directed the DAOs and concerned police authorities to take action against the black marketeers in response to the complaints lodged by consumers at the Ministry.

The Ministry also assured that the fuel supplies would be smooth in few days.
