Kathmandu, December 31

The Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police have arrested 15 persons, including two Indian nationals, on charge of illegally selling ‘libido-enhancement’ pills and other health products.

SP Jeevan Shrestha, CIB spokesperson, said the supreme investigating agency raided 12 stores in Kathmandu Valley and swooped on the suspects yesterday. The suspects arrested by CIB are Sudil Dhakal and Ratna Ghimire of Gorkha; Surya Bahadur Rayamaji of Bhojpur; Baburam Dhakal of Lamjung;  Basanta Samwahamphe of Panchthar; Yamnath Paudel of Taplejung; Suprabha KC of Ramechhap; Laxmi Kattel of Ilam; Bipin Bolakhe, Pawan Kumar Bharati, Yadav Raj Bharati and Rabin Khadka of Kavre; Bikash Goyal and Major Singh of India.

CIB had carried out coordinated raids on the stores operating in the name of Gorkha Herbo Biz, Herbal Shop Nepal Firm, Green Herbal and Fitness Shop, Teleone TV and Online Service, Kantipur Teleshop, Global Teleshop, Telemarket Nepal, Telecentre, Sitara Herbal, Global TV Product Shop, Natural Teleshop Centre and Asian Herbal Home Firm.

“They had been selling male enhancement pills and other health products promising that the use of such items would boost sexual performance and manhood. The suspects were running the business with or without registering their firm with the concerned agencies.

Despite being registered, the firms had engaged in unauthorised business against the purpose of the licence,” SP Shrestha informed.

For the sale of the health products, they would publish and broadcast ads on media with ‘money-back guarantee’ if a buyer was not satisfied with the product or service.

CIB has confiscated a huge cache of ‘illegal health products’, including Rock Hard, Green Tea Breast Lifting Fast Cream, STUD 5000 20G, Power Increased Thickening, MEN of Iron, Vigrx Plus, 24 Hormotex, Ella Breast Enlarging Cream, Kalong Breast Smaller Cream, Power VSA, Stud 5000, XXX Camando Power, Viamax Power Sexy Coffee, Handsome Up, Long John Cream, Lady Mantra, Nepal’s Yarsnagumba Capsules and Maxman Capsules, among others.
