KATHMANDU: As many as 19 persons were arrested on the charge of gambling from two different locations of KMC on Tuesday, police said.

Police raided and arrested Narendra Rai (60) of Simani in Khotang district and 10 others red-handed from Rai’s rented room in Chappal Karkhana in KMC-4 yesterday.

Police also confiscated  Rs 267,200 cash and four decks of cards from the site.

Similarly, police arrested Rajendra Tamang  (41) of Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-6 in Makawanpur district and seven others on the charge of gambling on Tuesday.

They were arrested red-handed from the rented room of Tamang in Taamsipakha in KMC-19 along with Rs 19,450 cash and three decks of cards.

Meanwhile, local police are investigating further into the cases, said police.
