2 killed in separate road accidents in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: Two motorcyclists have succumbed to their injuries after being hit by vehicles at assorted locations in Kathmandu Valley on Tuesday, police said.

Police said 25-year-old Niran Tamang of Nuwakot district who was riding a bike (Ba 84 Pa 1009) was hit by a container truck (Na 3 Kha 55) at Seetapaila in KMC-15 this afternoon.

Tamang critically injured in the incident was rushed to nearby Manhoman Hospital. However, Tamang breathed his last while undergoing treatment at the same hospital, according to police.

Police have impounded the vehicle and rounded its driver for further investigation.

Similarly, other person who was seriously injured in bike-bus collision in Kalanki has also succumbed to his injuries.

Police identified the deceased as 22-year-old Abishek Ghimire of Nuwakot district.

A bus (Ba 4 Kha 2713) had hit a bike (Ba 63 Pa 3534) seriously injuring its rider this afternoon.

According to police, seriously injured Ghimire died at the Bir Hospital on course the treatment.

Meanwhile, police said they are looking into both the cases.
