$2 million aid for Supreme Court
Kathmandu, August 20:
The Supreme Court and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) today signed an agreement to launch a judicial reform project. The $2 million project aims to enhance access to justice through judicial reform.
According to a press release, Supreme Court registrar Dr Ram Krishna Timalsena signed the document on behalf of the government in the presence of Chief Justice Kedar Prasad Giri.
The project aims to improve the capacity of institutions to deliver justice with particular emphasis on women and socially-excluded groups; the capacity of Nepalis to seek justice and the legislative framework.
