20 Nepalis rescued

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Embassy in Kuwait has rescued 20 Nepali migrant workers deceived by SOS Manpower Service Pvt Ltd.

According to a press release issued on Monday by the embassy, the workers were working at Sulebiya in a project of the Kuwait company Kharafi National Company. “They were deprived of their salary for the past seven months and their visas had expiried. They were bound to be fined by Kuwait’s authority,” the release stated.

The release also stated that 94 Nepali workers had lodged complaints with the embassy regarding the situation.

Ill workers were rescued and the embassy has continued its efforts to rescue others trapped in such a situation, said the release.
