Kathmandu: A team of policemen from the Narcotic Drug Control Law Enforcement Unit, New Baneshwor, arrested a woman with around 200 kg of hashish from Lalitpur on Sunday. According to the unit, police arrested Kanchhi Thing, 49, the proprietor of a furniture factory, acting on a tip-off. The police also seized the hashish, which was packed in seven fertiliser sacks. Thing hails from Amalekhgunj VDC-9 of Bara district and was staying at Talchhikhel, Lalitpur. The police said it is the second time she was arrested for possessing contraband drugs. Lalitpur district court had sentenced her for drug trafficking five years ago. — HNS
