KATHMANDU: Agitating Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) doctors continued their protest on the 22nd consecutive day today, disrupting teaching at the campus and afternoon OPD at the hospital.
The TUTH Faculty Doctors´ Association is on strike since August 30 putting forth seven demands, including quota for their children in
MBBS programme in the hospital, promotion and training for the doctors, transparency in Institute of Medicine, residence and provision for visiting professors.
Hospital director Dr Keshav Prasad Singh said they had tried to convince the agitating doctors and officials at the Dean’s office to solve the problem at the earliest.
“The unabated protest of has affected the afternoon OPD service, denying service to hundreds of patients who visit the hospital after 2 PM and also around 300 patients who pay Rs 200 each to receive service at the paying clinic,” said Dr Singh.
