35 persons awarded Youth Ambassador prizes
Kathmandu, February 4:
The Youth Federation for World Peace-Nepal (YFWPN) today honoured 35 youths from different backgrounds with the ‘Youth Ambassador for Peace’ award for their contribution in building peace in the country.
Those receiving the awards are Ang Tsering Sherpa, Binod Kumar Das, Saurav Jyoti, Arjun Kumar Karki, Sapana Malla Pradhan and others representing different disciplines
like sports, politics, business, social work and advocacy.
Speaking at the award distribution function, Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation, Pradip Gyawali said, “The conflict is posing a threat to the world and youths play a vital role in
both peace and conflict. If we are able to unite youths in the peace process, peace will be institutionalised.”
Gyawali added that the youths played a vital role during the Jana Andolan II and their role once again recounts the establishment of peace.
“True and lasting peace starts from the family and spreads to the society, nation and the world,” said Dr Robert S Kittel, director, Department of Peace Education, Universal Peace Federation (UPF) International.
Kittel said, “Good leadership is all about good parenting, one who fails to receive good education form the family could never be a good leader.”
