1 killed, 3 injured in oxygen cylinder explosion

KATHMANDU: A person, who sustained burn injuries in an oxygen cylinder explosion at Mangalbazaar of Lalitpur, died during treatment at hospital, police said.

Dhruba Tamrakar (40) died at around 2 pm today while being treated at the Patan Hospital, according to Kishan Singh Thapa, spokesperson at the Metropolitan Police Range, Lalitpur.

Other injured have been identified as Suresh Tamrakar, Rajesh Tamrakar and Kabina Tamrakar.

Oxygen cylinder had exploded in a workshop at Haugal earlier today.

Among the three, Suresh and Rajesh have sustained burn injuries all over their boy and are said to be in critical condition.

4 injured in Mangalbazaar fire

KATHMANDU: Four persons were injured when gas leakage sparked fire in Mangalbazaar of Lalitpur on Friday.

Police said a copper utensil workshop on the ground floor of the house of Krishna Govinda Tamrakar in Haugol, Mangalbazaar had caught fire today after the gas leakage.

A gas cylinder also exploded in the incident, according to police.

The injured were rushed to the Patan Hospital for treatment.

Two of them are in critical condition, according to police.
