4 injured as taxi hits bike, pedestrians in Kalanki

KATHMANDU: As many as four persons were injured after a taxi hit a motorcycle and knocked down pedestrians in Kalanki of Kathmandu on Monday evening.

The injured have been identified as the motorcyclist Pravin Shrestha (24) of Kalanki, pillion rider Kopila Manandhar (46), and pedestrians Bikram Sunar (24) of Chitwan and Gulle Miyan of Birgunj in Parsa district.

The incident occurred when the taxi (Ba 1 Ja 1626) hit the motorcycle (Ba 68 Pa 4260) and the pedestrians at around 8:30 pm yesterday, according to police.

All the injured are being treated at the Kalanki-based Sahid Memorial Hospital.

Meanwhile, police have impounded both the vehicles and arrested the taxi driver for further investigation.
