Over 4,000 traders booked for using inaccurate scales

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Bureau of Standards and Metrology (NBSM) Regional Office in Kathmandu took action against as many as 4,149 businesspersons after they were found using inaccurate measuring tools, in the fiscal year 2015/16 on Sunday.

The businesspersons had been found using the scales measuring less quantity than the standard ones.

Sashi Bhusan Yadav, chief of NBSM Kathmandu Office, further informed that the NBSM would continue to take actions against the businesspersons who cheat consumers.

A large number of businesses in Kathmandu have been cheating consumers by distorting their scales, according to the NBSM.
