More than 4,800 civil servants fail to submit personal details

KATHMANDU: More than 4,800 government employees have failed to furnish their property details for the current fiscal year, according to the Department of Civil Personnel Records.

The Department had set September 13 as a deadline for the submission of property details of those holding pubic position.

Of the total 86,895 civil servants across the country, only 82,083 have furnished their property details so far, said Information Officer for the Department, Rajendra Parajuli.

Any person in public service is required to submit the property details in his\her or his\her family members' names along with sources or evidence within 60 days of the date of assuming office and within 60 days of the date of completion of each fiscal year.

If one fails to submit property details within the given deadline, he or she is subjected to a fine of Rs 5000 and the concerned authority may start investigation into the property in their own or family members' name.
