95 pc birth-charts incorrect, say astrologers
Kathmandu, March 3:
Astrologers have claimed that some 95 per cent of the birth-charts in Nepal have calculation errors leading to inaccurate forecast of the birth signs.
Dr Lok Raj Poudel, president of Astro-Council Nepal said some 95 per cent of the birth-charts most of them before 2005 have calculation errors. He said it was due to the time difference between the watch, clock and the solar clock used as references for constructing a birth-chart.
Birth-charts made with the help of time shown by the wrist watch differs with the time depicted by the solar clock that shows the actual time, Poudel said.
“The problem of time difference occurred following the introduction of wrist watch. However, the difference have been adjusted by the National Almanac Committee (Panchanga Nirnayak Samiti) since last two years,” he said.
Dr Poudel also claimed that most of the astrologers of the nation are weak in mathematical calculations and have created an atmosphere of distrust among the people regarding astrology.
“As many as 95 per cent of the people pursuing astrology as their profession are weak in mathematical calculations,” claimed astrologer Khim Lal Gautam.
He said such incompetent astrologers have tarnished the faith on the profession. He also claimed that astrology is an applied science and not a superstition. “We are working to prove this with the help of researches,” he said.
Gautam, along with his colleagues, has recently established Adarsha Astro-Clinic and Research Centre with an objective to conduct researches on the field of astrology and boost the tarnishing image of the profession providing prophesy.
Dr Poudel also said they want the government to recognise astrology as a profession but quack practitioners have made it difficult to fight for their rights.
