Kathmandu, June 22:

Police today rescued 20 children who were abducted on Saturday night from the hostel of Naba Indra Dhanush school, Balaju by a woman working there.

The kids were rescued from the New Diamond Academy, Old Naikap, Kathmandu where kidnapper Hiramaya Rai along with her two accomplices had taken them the same night in five vans.

Hiramaya, her accomplices Krishna Malla and Tikamaya Rai, both hailing from Dhading, New Diamond’s principal Kumar Rai, have been arrested. The school was established last year. Rai said he had been lured by Hiramaya’s talks of foreign aid that they would receive if they kept the 20 children. The kids were sponsored by a Swedish aid agency in the previous hostels.
