KATHMANDU: Police on Tuesday said an absconding drug convict was arrested after 15 years from Lamjung.

The arrestee has been identified as Gaj Bahadur Gurung (71) of Dhodeni-2 in Lamjung.

Gurung was arrested by a team of Central Investigation Bureau on Sunday and presented before the District Court in Kathmandu on Monday.

The Patan Appellate Court on March 05, 2002 had slapped him with a 15-year jail sentence and a penalty of Rs 500,000. He had been on the run since then.

He has been sent to the Central Jail in Sundhara to serve his sentence.
