KATHMANDU: Several protesters who had gathered outside the office of the President this afternoon demanding justice for Nirmala Panta, the 13-year-old rape and murder victim from Kanchanpur, have been arrested.

Around 12 protesters were arrested from Maharajgunj as they were chanting slogans, asking the state to ensure justice to the victim and her family.

President Bidya Devi Bhandari, who had left for Poland on December 1 to participate in United Nation’s climate change summit, COP 24, is due to return today.
