‘Make talks a success’

Kathmandu, October 15:

Rights activists and representatives of various organisations today urged the government and the Maoists to reach an agreement on interim constitution and other pressing issues. They demanded that an alternative mechanism to Parliament be arranged and that the Maoists be included in the government.

They also demanded that the Maoists announce an end to the armed conflict and pave way for arms management.

“We all should press the concerned authorities to make the ongoing peace talks a success,” said Mohan Gyawali, president of the Nepal Teachers’ Association at an interaction organised by the Human Rights Organisation of Nepal (HURON) here today.
