AG pledges to play by rule
Kathmandu, August 22:
Newly appointed Attorney-General Raghav Lal Baidhya today asked subordinates not to seek favours by citing political links.
"The Prime Minister has entrusted me with this responsibility and I want to live up to it," Baidhya said after assuming the office. The AG was sworn in by Chief Justice Kedar Prasad Giri in the presence of President Dr Ram Baran Yadav. He expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for recommending him for the post.
Baidhya said he would not yield to undue pressure from individuals or groups.
The AG said he would not take any decision against the spirit of the Constitution. He requested
subordinates to listen to the voice of victims of injustice and try to solve all problems by adhering to the law of the land.
