Agitating students lift CTEVT lockout

Madhyapur Thimi, Sept 1:

Agitating students of the Certificate in Dental Science (CDS), who had been padlocking the office of the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) since August 28, lifted the lockout today.

The students decided to end their protest after the CTEVT management promised to help the students meet their demands.

The agitating students also submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ demanding the government to implement their 11-point demand, including the decisions taken by the cabinet and the Ministry of Education two years ago.

Receiving the memorandum, PM Dahal assured the students that the problem would be sorted out at the earliest possible. “I will discuss with other sectors concerned and urge them to implement the decisions soon,”PM Dahal told the students.
