Kathmandu, July 8:

The first annual general meeting of Nepal Agricultural Journalist Association (NAJA) today elected a nine-member executive committee under the leadership of Subodh Gautam.

The meeting has unanimously elected Jayaram Subedi, Pitambar Sigdel, Tika Ram Pradhan and Naresh Khapangi Magar as vice-president, general secretary, secretary and treasurer respectively.

The members of the executive committee include Sanjay Neupane, Kul Chandra Bhattarai, Deepak Babu Aryal and Govinda Khadka. During the function general secretary of the association Sigdel presented annual report of the association while treasurer Magar had presented financial report of the earlier fiscal year.

While addressing the function newly elected president Gautam said NAJA has been successful to achieve its goal and has lot to do so to establish agriculture sector of the country as one of the most important aspect of the news reporting and thereby help agricultural development of the country.

NAJA was formed last year with an aim to increase coverage of the agricultural activities of the country in the media and creating awareness among the farmers.
