KATHMANDU: All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU) member Indra Hang Rai was arrested on the charge of rape on Tuesday.

He was apprehended from Gokarneshwar Municipality, Kathmandu.

Rai, on pretext of playing Deusi Bhailo, had lured the victim to his relative's residence in Makalbari and then raped her, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Hobindra Bogati, Spokesperson at Metropolitan Police Range.

Rai was arrested today after the victim filed a report against him at Metropolitan Police Circle, Bouddha on Monday, said DSP Bogati, adding that police have secured the incident site for further investigation.

The victim is undergoing treatment at a health facility.

Indra Hang Rai is Assistant Secretary at the Ratna Rajya Laxmi Campus chapter and central member of ANNFSU.
