ANNFSU plea to lawmakers
Kathmandu, April 28:
The All Nepal National Free Students’ Union (ANNFSU), the student wing of the CPN-UML, today submitted an appeal to the Members of Parliament saying that the reinstated House of Representatives (HoR) should pass certain items forwarded by the union.
According to the ANNFSU, the HoR should guarantee and announce unconditional election to a constituent assembly and dismiss all the royal appointments in various government and constitutional bodies.
It also said the House should work towards withdrawing Red Corner notices against Maoists and inviting them to the talks table. The student body also urged the parliamentarians to work towards ensuring an end to all sorts of commercialisation in education, enhancing the quality of education, and providing employment-oriented education.
It appealed to the MPs that the revival of the House should pave the way for a republican set-up through constituent assembly. The ANNFSU handed over the appeal letters to the MPs before the House reconvened.
