ANNFSU seeks 50 per cent discount on fares for students
Kathmandu, June 17:
All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU), the student wing of the CPN-UML, today demanded the government to provide 50 per cent discount for students on transport fares.
The union handed over a memorandum to Minister for Labour and Transport Management Ramesh Lekhak demanding the concession.
The union has also demanded that the discount should be effectively implemented on all routes throughout the nation and it should also be valid for air fares.
At present, students get 33 per cent discount on transport fares.
Meanwhile, a student was hurt when cadres of ANNFSU and ANNFSU-R clashed at Nepal Humanities College at Exhibition. Gautam Rai was injured in the clash. Bal Gopal Upadhyay of ANNFSU said the clash ensued after a minor dispute over a drawer. Rai is being treated at the Model Hospital.
