Assault victim succumbs to injuries

KATHMANDU: A man succumbed to injuries he sustained in an attack by an unidentified gang in the Capital.

The gang had beat the 45-year-old Tirtha Bahadur Maharjan black and blue in Patan on January 25.

He was admitted to the Bir Hospital for treatment, which on Sunday referred the case to the Tripureshwor-based Blue Cross Hospital, police said.

But, Maharjan breathed his last while undergoing treatment on Monday morning.

A permanent resident of Dallu, KMC-15, Maharjan was currently staying in Kalanki.

While looking for the attackers, police are investigating into the case.
