Award in Shah’s name
Kathmandu:
The Reporters’ Club Nepal has decided to set up an award in the name of slain journalist Birendra Shah who was killed by Maoist cadres nearly a month ago in Bara.
The club decided to institute ‘Birendra Shah Investigative Journalism Award’ to honour the slain journalist. “The award will contain a purse of Rs 25,001 and will be handed over on October 5, the day on which Shah was killed, every year,” said Rishi Dhamala, the chairman of the club.
He also said the club will also provide Rs 15,000 to Shah’s family.
