Ayurveda expo on August 24

Kathmandu, August 22:

The Nepal Ayurveda Medical Students’ Society is organising an exhibition on ayurveda, yoga, naturopathy and medicinal plants on August 24-26 on the premises of the Ayurveda Campus in Kirtipur.

A press release issued today said the ‘Ayur Expo 2007’ is being organised with an aim to promote ayurveda education and encourage people to use ayurvedic medicines.

“The expo aims at disseminating information about ayurveda education and medicine by gathering national and international pharmacists, medicine manufacturing industries, non-political organisations, hospitals and farmers who produce herbs,” the release said.

National and international ayurveda companies, NGOs, INGOs, herb producers, and health institutions will participate in the exhibition. Over 300 medicinal plants would be displayed on the occasion. Free yoga and health camps, medicine distribution, manuscript display, and health counselling by ayurveda specialists are other features of the exhibition. Over 80 per cent Nepalis are using ayurveda, the release said.
