Baidya demands solution of Madhes crisis thru talks, 'internationalisation' of blockade
KATHMANDU: Mohan Baidya-led CPN-Revolutionary Maoist urged Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to address genuine demands of agitating Madhes-based parties through talks and raise the issue of border blockade at international forums.
Submitting a six-point memorandum to Oli today, a delegation of the party led by Chairman Baidya said India breached various international laws by imposing the blockade and Nepal should raise the issue at international forums including the United Nations.
Likewise, the party demanded that the government annul unequal treaties and agreements signed with India.
It asked the government to end the black marketing and ensure smooth supply of essentials including fuel, medicines and food stuff.
The government was also suggested to develop hydropower projects and explore petroleum within the nation to avoid such problems in the future.
