KATHMANDU: Two Bangladeshi nationals were arrested in possession of 1.9 kg undeclared gold from the Tribhuvan International Airport on Tuesday.

Kamal Vidin (50) and MD Muhi Vidin (55) had just landed in Kathmandu from Kuala Lumpur of Malaysia on a Nepal Airlines flight yesterday.

The illegally imported precious yellow metal was recovered during a regular x-ray check at the arrival ward of the TIA.

The confiscated gold is worth around Rs 7.97 million as per the current market rate.

Further investigation is underway.
