Be people-oriented, goal-oriented, practical, PM tells government officials

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has directed government officials to provide services to people by making the public administration people-oriented, goal-oriented and practical.

While receiving the report submitted by High Level Administrative Reforms Monitoring Committee today, PM Oli directed the civil servants to work for eight hours being action-oriented and by giving up any kinds of political influence and misuse of power.

He added that there was no meaning of obstructing the works through acts like padlocking. He directed secretaries of the ministries to work in a manner to give people a feeling of change.

PM Oli directed them to release the budget on time for timely completion of the development projects, being objective and transparent in deputation, transfer, and promotion. He also stressed that no mechanism should be politicised.

The Committee Chair Kashiraj Dahal submitted the report to the PM Oli at a function held at the PM's official residence, Baluwatar today.

The report suggests formation of laws as per the need of federal structure, forming federal unit in ministries and arranging the civil servants in federal, provincial and local tiers of governance through special board or mechanism.

The report recommends some measures and policy level reforms to make the public administration prompt, action-oriented and people-centred.

After receiving the report, PM Oli handed it over to acting Chief Secretary Narayan Gopal Malegu to study and implement it.
