Kathmandu, November 10:

Sisters across the country will offer tika to their brothers tomorrow, wishing them long life and prosperity on the occasion of Bhaitika.

The auspicious hour tomorrow for offering the tika is between 11 am and 2:00 pm, chairman of the Panchang Nirnayak Samiti Dr Madhav Bhattarai said.

However, the Samiti did not make any official decision on the auspicious hour this year, he said. On this day, brothers who have sisters are seated at a specially anointed place around which a trail of mustard oil is drawn. Sisters then offer brothers tika and garlands made of Dubo and Makhamali.

After placing colourful tika on the foreheads, sisters offer brothers a treat consisting of a variety of sweets, walnut and spices. Brothers also offer their sisters tika in return, wish them happiness.
