Bhaktapur records highest turnout in local election

BHAKTAPUR: Bhaktapur has witnessed the highest voter turnout recording 83 per cent in the local level elections on Sunday.

According to the Bhaktapur District Election Office, the smallest district in the country recorded the highest voter turnout among the 34 districts of Province No. 3, 4 and 6.

As many as 131,958 votes were cast in four municipalities of the district, according to District Election Officer Umesh Rai.

There are  total 161,529 voters in the district.
