KATHMANDU: A person died after being swept away by a river in Suryavinayak Municipality-4 of Bhaktapur district on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as 56-year-old Satyawati Khadka, of Khadkagaun in the locality.

Khadka was crossing the Thado Khola, a rivulet, alone at around 3:00 pm yesterday, when suddenly the river swept her away, according to police.

Her body was recovered around 500 metres down the river in Patichaur, Suryavinayak Municipality-7, police added.

Meanwhile, the investigation into the case is underway, said police.
