Bid to change govt conspiracy against political stability: PM

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Friday commented that the recent bid to change the government was a conspiracy against Nepal's political stability.

Speaking at a function organised to mark the 38th death anniversary of Communist leader Pushpa Lal Shrestha in Kirtipur of Kathmandu today, Oli said various forces were involved in the bid.

He accused opposition parties of obstructing the government's preparations for elections at various levels in the course of implementing the Constitution.

He also charged the previous coalition partner CPN Maoist Centre that it had betrayed aspirations of the nation and its people and the Maoists would regret for that very soon.

Meanwhile, the CPN-UML Chairman said his party was committed to striving for social justice and equality following the paths shown by late leaders Pushpa Lal Shrestha and Madan Bhandari.

Former Prime Minister and Chairman of the Pushpa Lal Memorial Foundation, Madhav Kumar Nepal; UML politburo member Bedu Ram Bhusal; and Foundation's Vice-Chairman Lok Krishna Bhattarai had discussed Pushpa Lal's contribution to Nepali Communist movement, at the event.
