Bilateral agreements to be signed with India, Sri Lanka
KATHMANDU: Minister of Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali on Friday said Nepal and India would sign two bilateral memorandums of understanding on bulk cargo transport and Raxaul-Kathmandu railway on the sidelines of the fourth summit of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation.
The agreements will be signed during talks between Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 31.
Modi will also inaugurate the Nepal Bharat Maitri Pashupati Dharmashala — built at Tilganga, Kathmandu, with Indian financial assistance of Rs 219.9 million — and hand it over to the Government of Nepal.
Similarly, Nepal and Sri Lanka will also sign an MoU on cooperation between Nepal’s Institute of Foreign Affairs and Sri Lank’s Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies.
