KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bimalendra Nidhi has assured that the government would hold local, provincial and federal elections within the scheduled time.

Addressing a special function organised today at the Nepal Police headquarters on the occasion of its 61st establishment day, the Home Minister said holding timely elections was the the the top priority of the government and it was working for the same accordingly.

The Minister, praising the role of Nepal Police in the advancement social security, delivery of social services and infrastructure development, suggested that the organisation should make more efforts to win people's hearts.

On the occasion, Inspector General of Nepal Police Upendra Kant Aryal said the organisation was doing its best to prove its effective presence in the changed scenario.
