Budget session to begin on May 3
KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Tuesday called the budget session of the Parliament for 11 am on May 3.
According to Parliament General Secretary Manohar Prasad Bhattarai, President Bhandari summoned the House as per Article 296(6) of the Constitution.
Earlier, the Cabinet this afternoon had recommended the date to commence the session to the President.

KATHMANDU: The Council of Ministers on Tuesday recommended the President Bidya Devi Bhandari to summon budget session of the Parliament from May 3.
The Cabinet meeting held today at Singhadarbar made the recommendation.
According to the decision, the President is recommended to call the Parliament meeting for 11 am on May 3.
Rai appointed APF IG
Meanwhile, the meeting also promoted Acting Inspector General of Armed Police Force Durja Kumar Rai to the post of the APF IG.
Rai was holding the position of acting chief of the Force after its IG Kosh Raj Onta was suspended by the government as the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority began investigations into corruption charges against him, on December 18 last year.
The meeting also scrapped Nepali citizenship three Indians - namely Mahendra Kumar Mishra, Anil Kumar Mishra and Satish Kumar Mishra - who acquired the citizenship from the Rupandehi District Administration Office by furnishing fake personal information.
The Cabinet also fixed workplaces of 12 joint secretaries.
