Buffalo thieves arrested

LALITPUR: Police have arrested two persons who allegedly stole three buffaloes from the grazing land in Taudaha, Kirtipur. The detainees are Jeet Bahadur Rana, 35, of Sindhuli and Krishna Thing, 45, of Makawanpur. According to police, the duo led three grazing buffaloes to Chobahar and butchered two of them for sale. One of the two suspects is said to be absconding.

Light tremor recorded

KATHMANDU: A light tremor hit Dolakha on Tuesday morning. It was felt in neighbouring districts as well. It was the first aftershock of the April 25 earthquake after a gap of four days, the National Seismological Centre said. The aftershock was of local magnitude 4.3 and recorded at 8:09am. Its epicentre was close to Na Gaun, northeast of Charikot, Dolakha. The last aftershock of local magnitude 4.0 was recorded at 5:09 on July 17, with its epicentre near Barpak of Gorkha.

Car-hit kills biker

KATHMANDU: A biker, who was critically injured after a car hit the bike he was riding in Babarmahal on Monday, died while undergoing treatment at Civil Service Hospital, Min Bhawan. The deceased has been identified as Sani Sarkar, 26, of Dharan, currently residing in Basundhara. Police seized the four-wheeler and arrested its driver.

House burgled

KATHMANDU: Property worth around Rs 124,000 was stolen from an unattended room in Kaldhara on Monday. According to a complaint lodged with police, unidentified thieves barged into the room of Narayan Adhikari after breaking the bolt of the door and whisked away with Rs 45,000 and various gold ornaments. The culprits are at large.
