KATHMANDU, MARCH 3
The Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) hosted Kang Tae Sun, Chairman of BYN Black Yak, and his team at its Secretariat in Nagpokhari, Naxal, on Sunday.
Led by Nima Nuru Sherpa, President of the NMA, the association's leadership, including Thakur Raj Pandey, Senior Vice President; Mohan Lamsal, General Secretary; and Rajendra Bahadur Lama, Secretariat Member, were among those present to greet the visiting team, presenting them with traditional Khada and NMA souvenirs.
Accompanying Black Yak Chairman Sun were Seok Koung Hoon, the International Marketing Director, and Bhim Gurung, the Nepal representative of BYN Black Yak.
Black Yak, a Korean outdoor company specializing in producing Himalayan-inspired outerwear with high-tech materials, has, at the initiation of the NMA, donated mountain gear to Icefall doctors of the Khumbu Icefall.
Moreover, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was formalized between BYN Black Yak, the Sagarmatha Pollution Control Committee (SPCC), and the NMA, solidifying their partnership in supporting mountain conservation efforts.
Under this agreement, BYN Black Yak will support the SPCC by providing various mountaineering equipment and gear to be used by icefall doctors and mountaineers assigned to open the route to the summit of the mountains.
The SPCC annually employs eight icefall doctors and five support staff to set the Khumbu Icefall route.
