CA court summons EC, Baglung-2 winner

Kathmandu, May 6:

The Constituent Assembly Court today summoned the Election Commission and Chitra Bahadur KC, winner of CA election from Baglung-2, to be present in the court on May 22.

A three-member bench of Justices Anup Raj Sharma, Top Bahadur Magar and Ram Kumar Prasad Shaha issued the order following today’s hearing.

The bench said it would decide whether or not to issue interlocutory stay order as demanded by the petitioners after the hearing.

Defeated candidates from the constituency had jointly filed a case against his victory seeking the court order to prevent him from participating in the Constituent Assembly proceedings.

Lila Bahadur Thapa of the Nepal Communist Party-Unified and the Nepali Congress candidate Manibhadra Sharma, who lost to KC, have accused KC of winning the CA election through

illegal means.
