CA meet put off for Saturday as parties fail to make headway

KATHMANDU: The Constituent Assembly (CA) meeting called for 5 pm on Friday has been put off for 3 pm on Saturday.

A notice issued by the CA General Secretary Manohar Prasad Bhattarai says the CA Chairman Subas Chandra Nembang rescheduled the meeting due to "a special reason".

Nembang apparently postponed the meeting at leaders of major parties at the Constitutional Political Dialogue and Consensus Committee (CPDCC) could not finalise issues regarding demarcation of Pradeshes in the purported federal set-up.

Meanwhile, the special committee under the CPDCC, comprising of chairs of Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, UCPN-Maoist and Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum-Democratic are yet to forge a deal on delineation of boundaries of Pradeshes though they have expedited talks for last few days.
