Cabinet approves standards for high level foreign trips

KATHMANDU, July 30

A Cabinet meeting on Thrusday approved the report regarding the standards for the high level foreign visits, feasts and receiving and providing gifts by the civil servants.

The meeting also endorsed the directives on use of vehicles. Information and Communications Minister Minendra Rijal, who is also the government spokesperson, said the directives would not affect the jobs of the existing drivers driving government vehicles and the new provision would decrease the government costs on vehicles.

The Cabinet meeting on Thrusday also decided to appoint Moti Bahadur Kunwar as the Executive Director of Nalsinghgad Hydropower Project and Khakindra Bahadur Bhandari as the member of the Central Child Welfare Committee under the Women, Children and Social Welfare Ministry.

Similarly on Thrusday’s Cabinet meeting also decided to appoint Rajendra Thapa as the general manager of the Cultural Corporation of Nepal under the Ministry of Culture,

Tourism and Civil Aviation, according to Minister Rijal.

The government has also decided to appoint Nirmala Acharya as the general manager of Rastriya Samachar Samiti of Ministry for Information and Communications. Acharya is the first woman chief of the national news agency in the history of its 54 years. Acharya with Master's degree in history from Tribhuvan University joined RSS in 2050 BS. She started her career in journalism from Saptahik Bimarsha in 2046 BS. Rijal said the government decided to assign retiring secretary at Ministry for Peace and Reconstruction Khumraj Punjali as special class officer at the Nepal Administration Staff College under the Ministry of General Administration.
