Call to re-establish democratic process

The Asia regional conference of the International Falcon Movement Socialist Educational International Institute (IFAM ACI) has appealed to the government to re-establish democratic process in Nepal soon. The conference was held from March 15 to 18. Nirbikar Shrestha, president of Youth and Children’s Development Organisation Nepal, who participated in the conference, said, the conference held discussions on providing necessary support to the people, government and the political parties to re-establish the democratic process. The issue of Bhutanese refugees also surfaced in the conference, which sought India’s mediation to solve the issue, he said.

Representatives of different political parties and organisations from Bhutan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India and Nepal had participated in the conference. Interaction between participant children and youths of 55 nations, including Nepal, provided an opportunity for cultural exchange and an insight into the matters of international concern. Over 5,000 children and youths participated in the camp.
