Campus chief targeted

KATHMANDU:

Students affiliated to the Nepal Students’ Union (NSU) and All Nepal National Free Students’ Union (ANNFSU), the student wings of NC and CPN-UML, respectively, on Monday smeared black soot on the face of Padma Prasad Bhattarai, campus chief of Balmiki Campus after the latter declined to resign from his post. Bamdev Adhikari, former NSU campus unit president, said the student bodies had asked Bhattarai to quit for serving the royal regime. The students also accused Bhattrai of unjustifiably expelling three students from the hostel. The student bodies said they had also asked all assistant campus chiefs and officials of Mahendra Sanskrit University to step down.
