Labour unions’ condolence

KATHMANDU: Nepal Factory Labour Union (NFLU) on Tuesday expressed condolence

on the demise of Nepali Congress President Girija Prasad Koirala. A statement issued

by the NFLU said Koirala had always the

best guide when it came to resolving the country’s problems. The statement further demanded fulfiling Koirala’s dream of a

logical end to the peace process and drafting

a new constitution on time. The Nepal

Trade Union Congress also expressed deep condolence and said Koirala was a great leader of the country.

Embassy reps in NC office

Kathmandu: Representatives of five embassies in Nepal today visited the Nepali Congress headquarters in Sanepa, Lalitpur, to express condolence on the demise of NC President Girija Prasad Koirala. The representatives of embassies of the US, China, Pakistan, Egypt and North Korea wrote their condolence messages on the condolence book at the party headquarters.

TU condoles GPK death

KATHMANDU: The Tribhuvan University has said it was grieved by the death of its former Chancellor and the supreme figure of Nepal’s democratic movement Girija Prasad Koirala. A meeting of the university’s executive council held on Monday extended its condolence to the bereaved family, a statement issued to the media by the Office of the Vice-Chancellor, said.

Bhandari in China

KATHMANDU: Defence Minister Bidhya

Devi Bhandari, who is on an official visit

to the People’s Republic of China on

Tuesday observed a training centre of the

Chinese People’s Liberation Army in

Guilin. High-level officials at the centre briefed Bhandari on the training centre. Bhandari was told about the various

aspects of the training centre. Meanwhile, Bhandari left for Bejing, where she is

scheduled to meet her Chinese counterpart on Wednesday, said Bhandari’s press advisor Subash Devkota.
