Motorcyclist killed

KATHMANDU: Deepak Bhujel (29) of Sindhuli, currently living at Thali- 5 in Kathmandu was killed when the motorcycle (Ba 38 Pa 4177) he was riding on skidded off the Kharekhola bridge and plunged into a gorge below at Narayantar in Jorpati on Thursday morning. Police said Bhujel was heading for Thali, when the mishap occurred. The body has been sent to the TU Teaching Hospital at Maharajgunj for post-mortem.

Muslims’ demand

KATHMANDU: Nepal Muslim Ettehad Organisation (NMEO) on Thursday demanded a public holiday on Friday, the 1,439th birth anniversary of Alihi Wasalam. In a press statement, the NMEO has demanded the government declare the day a public holiday as per an agreement it had signed with the government on March 17, 2007. The statement further demanded timely constitution and end to impunity.
