NHRC’s concern

KATHMANDU: National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Thursday urged all the Constituent Assembly members, both within and outside the ruling coalition, to work with consensus to draft the new constitution within the given deadline. There are just four month left for writing the constitution, the leaders must expedite the constitution-making process by forging a high-level understanding and coordination among them, NHRC said in a press statement issued here. The statement further cautioned them not to deliver any speech that goes against the Comprehensive Peace Agreement and the Interim Constitution.

Call to stop corruption

KATHMANDU: Global Organisation of Parliamentarians Against Corruption-Nepal (GOPAC-N) on Thursday submitted a ten-point memorandum to Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal drawing his attention towards rampant corruption in the country. Issuing a press statement, GOPAC-N has urged the PM to table the issue at legislature session soon.
