French held

KATHMANDU: Police on Thursday arrested a French citizen Silnia Nelley from the Tribhuvan International Airport on charges of possessing 23 gram of hashish. The 29-year-old woman was preparing to fly to Delhi via Indian Airlines. The contraband was found in her luggage in course of checking, the police said.

2 arrested with heroin

KATHMANDU: Narcotic Drugs Control and Law Enforcement Unit arrested two alleged drug traffickers with 140 grams heroin. A Nepal Police on Saturday stated that arrests were made from Balkhu on Thursday. They have been identified as Jaya Shanka Kalwar, 55 and Shekhar Kumar Soni, 39, both Indian nationals, residing in Chabahil, Kathmandu.

5 arrested for burglary

LALITPUR: Police on Saturday detained five persons on charges of robbing Rs 350,000 from one Siraj Rai, hailing from Banke and residing in Satdobato of Lalitpur district. The robbers, who are yet to be identified, had beaten up Rai before fleeing the scene with the looted cash on Thursday.

KATHMANDU: Police on Friday handed over Suman Khatri of Kathmandu Metropolitan City- 5, who was arrested last week on charges of carrying with him a hard cash of US$ 27,820, to the Department of Revenue Investigation in Lalitpur for further investigation.
